Reverend James B. Adams Sr.
In addition to his pastoral duties, he was the organizer and First President of the Black Ministerial Alliance of Lexington County, former Vice President of Gethsemane Sunday School Congress, Special Assistant to the President of the South Carolina Congress of Christian Education and JACS Counselor at Schenck Job Corp. Pisgah Forest, North Carolina. Currently he is serving as President of the Reedy River Congress of Christian Education, as well as a Congress Instructor, State President South Carolina Progressive Baptist Fellowship. He was the Assistant General Manager of WPJM Radio Station, Vice President of the Southern Side Neighborhood Association, Chaplain at Watkins Garret and Wood Mortuary, past Chairman, Media and Radio Ministry of the Progressive National Convention, NAACP Executive Board, Greenville Branch; where he served for two years as Chairman of the Voters Registration Committee. He served as the President of the Baptist Ministers Fellowship of Greenville County and Vicinity, July 2001-July 2003. Under his leadership as President of the Baptist Ministers Fellowship, several noteworthy events were organized to include a 9/11 Memorial Service, a Martin Luther King Memorial Service, an Education Committee to attend school board meetings and Political Action Committee to attend City/County Council Meetings. Reverend Adams leadership was successful in organizing the “Dignity Day March” in Greenville that led in the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday being recognized in Greenville County. He is the father of two sons, James Jr. (“Jamey” (Wyona)) a graduate of the College of Charleston, Charleston, South Carolina and Wesley, a graduate of Georgia Southern University, Statesville, GA.
